If the last days of 2020 rushed by in a blur and end-of-year processing slipped through the cracks, don’t worry: we’ve got you covered with simple instructions on how to wrap up your business numbers for the previous year. Get the most from your reporting by following these end-of-year tips and resources to help you close out your year successfully!
End of Year simplified:

  1. Post it! For capturing all your annual revenue, make sure patient visit lists and invoices are posted and bad accounts written off or adjusted. Tip: use the Daily Planner to quickly review and post your PVLs and invoices!
  2. Count it! Year-end inventory ideally should be verified correct before your last EOM close for the year. Make sure to post your receipts, count and update quantity and cost on hand as needed to make sure your Inventory Cost report is as accurate as possible. Tip: Did you know EOY processing also makes a pdf copy of both the Cost and Cost Totals reports for you in the cstone/share/EOYInvCost folder?
  3. Copy it! Make a database copy before and after processing in event of an error and as your full backup for your final yearly records.
  4. Close it! Process EOD, EOM and EOY concurrently. While unattended end of day and/or month is available, end of year must be run manually. Tip: Set yourself a ‘reminder’ in Cornerstone as an appointment or block on the last business day of the year so it is not forgotten!
