Important computer security notice

Intel® has identified a vulnerability with the technology used in many computers, including Dell®. They have worked directly with Dell and other computer manufacturers to identify which systems are affected and provide a patch that fixes the problem. One or more of the computers you have previously purchased from IDEXX are on that list.

Please check to see whether you’re still using any of the computers below and then take the simple but important steps to secure your system. A more detailed summary from Intel is available here.

How does this impact my computer security?

The vulnerability in this Intel technology can allow an unprivileged attacker to remotely gain access to your business computers. This could compromise both the confidentiality and integrity of your data as well as the other software used on the computer.

Additional Questions:

I’ve purchased other Dell computers from IDEXX, are those impacted?

No, the 6 computers shown above are the only computers sold by IDEXX with this issue.

If I have computers that were not purchased through IDEXX, could they have this issue?

Potentially, this Intel technology can be found in many computers, a full list and recommendations are both available here, as well as a discovery tool that can analyze your system for the vulnerability. If you need assistance please contact your local computer technician or your computer manufacturer.
