IDEXX Computer Systems Releases IDEXX Cornerstone 8.3 Practice Management Software [Trade]
New features designed to improve information sharing and communication with practice systems, suppliers, staff and clients
WESTBROOK, Maine, October 23, 2012—IDEXX Computer Systems announces the availability of IDEXX Cornerstone Practice Management Software version 8.3. This latest release adds new features that streamline the way practices share information between systems and referral networks, among staff and with clients. By improving communications and information sharing, Cornerstone 8.3 can help practices operate more efficiently and strengthen client relationships.

First among Cornerstone 8.3’s new features is integration with VetConnect PLUS, the latest innovation from IDEXX that reports all IDEXX diagnostic results together, online, in one consolidated view. VetConnect PLUS is accessible anytime, anywhere, from a desktop, laptop or tablet.
“VetConnect PLUS helps veterinarians gain deeper insight into each patient’s health by displaying their diagnostic history in one place,” said Jonathan Ayers, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “Veterinarians can easily view results across in-house and reference laboratory diagnostics, which are reported side by side. And the simple, intuitive graphing of key analytes helps clients see what the results mean for their pet, specifically, which increases their understanding and improves compliance.”
At checkout, Cornerstone’s automatic next-appointment prompt ensures that scheduling future appointments will be a consistent part of your client communication after every visit. To help maximize care and revenue opportunities, this feature electronically identifies services due based on patient characteristics and findings from the current visit. The receptionist is automatically prompted at checkout to schedule the next appointment and recommended services are linked directly to the Appointment Scheduler, with pre-populated fields to streamline the process.
For referral hospitals and specialists, Cornerstone 8.3 introduces a series of features specifically designed to help build stronger relationships with customers through improved communications and information sharing. For example, the referral relationship management function has been expanded to allow users to attach multiple doctors to a case, manage contact information and lists, view referral specifics, and set or share information according to customer communication preferences.
New features have also been added to improve distribution and tracking of fax and email communications from directly within Cornerstone, as well as new referral reports that provide data by department, services performed and individual doctor/hospital performance.
