IDEXX Laboratories Launches IDEXX VetConnect PLUS [Trade]

Veterinarians can now see patients’ IDEXX diagnostic laboratory history on one screen, anytime, anywhere

WESTBROOK, Maine, July 17, 2012—IDEXX Laboratories has launched IDEXX VetConnect PLUS diagnostic results reporting. This new service enables veterinarians to see, on one screen, a patient’s entire blood work history generated by IDEXX point-of-care equipment and reference laboratories. The patient’s lab work history is presented in an easy-to-read interactive format and can be viewed on a desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone.

“Whether a pet is in for a sick animal visit, chronic condition management or preventive care, immediate access to their entire IDEXX history of blood values lets veterinarians easily spot important trends and gain deeper insights into that patient’s health,” says Jonathan Ayers, CEO, IDEXX Laboratories. “Case in point: Customers with the IDEXX VetLab Station and in-house analyzers can see their blood work results on VetConnect PLUS within seconds of completing the run, which enhances their ability to provide Real-Time Care. What’s more, by using VetConnect PLUS to share this complete picture of diagnostic results with clients face-to-face or over the web, veterinarians can improve pet owners’ understanding of their recommendations and reinforce the importance of regular, routine preventive care blood work. It’s an easy way for clinicians to demonstrate their value with every visit.”

With VetConnect PLUS, there’s no need to look in multiple places to gather a patient’s test results, because all patient data is automatically assimilated for easy comparison and trend spotting. Veterinarians can compare and cross-reference current results with up to 10 years of historical results on a single screen. Additionally, interactive graphs let clinicians trend one or multiple parameters as well as click on any data point to see its source, run date and test value. Users can also request additional reference laboratory tests and email results to clients or specialists from the same screen.

VetConnect PLUS is available, at no additional charge, for all IDEXX customers in the U.S., including those with only IDEXX point-of-care instruments or those with IDEXX Reference Laboratories accounts. IDEXX VetConnect online users can upgrade to VetConnect PLUS using their current user name and password.
