IDEXX Computer Systems Releases IDEXX Cornerstone 8.2 Practice Management Software [Trade]

New user-directed updates make Cornerstone an even simpler, more powerful practice management system

WESTBROOK, Maine, December 20, 2011—IDEXX Computer Systems announces the availability of IDEXX Cornerstone Practice Management Software version 8.2. Fueled by feedback from current customers, this latest release offers greater speed, connectivity and efficiency to help practices eliminate barriers to providing exceptional patient care and achieving their performance goals.

A more powerful, easier-to-use Electronic Whiteboard is just one of the upgrades. At a single glance—and with no clicks—staff gets a real-time update on all patients in the clinic and the services each requires. These and other improvements to the Electronic Whiteboard are a response to the needs of a wide range of users: from single-doctor practices looking to get more done in a busy day, to large specialty referral and emergency facilities whose many patients are cared for by multiple staff members.

Cornerstone 8.2 also delivers superior integration with digital radiography that simplifies the creation of comprehensive electronic medical records, reduces orphan charges and streamlines work flow. For example, practitioners can now initiate digital requests as an invoice item from within the diagnostic work flow. This requires fewer steps and can be done without having to break from the normal patient work flow. Integration with the IDEXX I-Vision Mobile application lets users order, receive and review digital radiographs on an Apple iPad or Android mobile tablet.

Other improvements in Cornerstone 8.2 include faster entry of simple medical notes, automatic updating of patient records for sex-specific procedures, and the ability to offer clients more flexible payment options with the partial payment functionality of X-Charge software.
