IDEXX Telemedicine Consultants Welcomes DVMInsight

Combining expertise in veterinary telemedicine services to provide comprehensive consultation services and expanded customer support

WESTBROOK, Maine, September 09, 2011—IDEXX Telemedicine Consultants announces that DVMInsight (including its teleradiology service, Sight Hound Radiology) has joined IDEXX Laboratories to bring together the industry-leading providers of veterinary telemedicine services and provide our customers with new opportunities for radiology services. Matt Wright, DVM, MS, DACVR, CEO of DVMInsight, and Stephen Walters, CTO of DVMInsight, will become part of the leadership team at IDEXX Telemedicine Consultants and continue to oversee the DVMInsight technology platform used by independent radiologists.

Based in San Diego, California, DVMInsight provides independent radiologists a fully customized and simple-to-use telemedicine system as well as image and data archive solutions. IDEXX will continue to support and develop this platform and work to integrate it with the IDEXX Cornerstone Practice Management System and IDEXX-PACS Imaging Software so telemedicine requests from these systems can be routed easily to DVMInsight specialists. Sight Hound Radiology customers new to IDEXX will benefit from added cardiac services, such as 20-minute turnaround times for ECG screens and one-hour STAT internal medicine consultations.

"Telemedicine is becoming increasingly important to the veterinarian, and IDEXX is committed to building lasting partnerships with industry leaders to provide exceptional customer service," said Don Schofield, Director and General Manager, IDEXX Telemedicine Consultants. "The proven expertise of these companies strengthens the IDEXX position as the leading provider of diagnostic information and telemedicine services to the veterinary healthcare industry, and the integration of these important services will help DVMInsight reach an even broader audience while achieving a seamless customer experience."

"Both IDEXX and DVMInsight are committed to creating the best teleradiology environment for the veterinary community," said Wright. "This partnership signals a new beginning for veterinary teleradiology where central services work alongside independent radiologists and referral centers to benefit their clients through novel, robust and efficient technology-driven platforms."

"IDEXX is committed to making telemedicine easy to use for our clients. Whether they use our telemedicine service or use a local radiologist, we want to make it simple," said John Feleciano, DVM, DACVR, Manager of Radiology, IDEXX Telemedicine Consultants. "Dr. Matt Wright and his team at DVMInsight will help guide us as we work to achieve this goal."
