Dynal® MX7 Mixer
Semi-automated Immunomagnetic Separation (IMS)

The Dynal MX7 Mixer, recently US EPA-approved for Method 1623* (PDF, 92 KB), automates the steps of the Cryptosporidium and Giardia magnetized mixing isolation protocols, creating a semi-automated IMS method.

The only protocol change from your existing method is the use of a rotator instead of manual rocking, making it easy to incorporate the Dynal MX7 Mixer into your workflow. The same magnetic separators are used, but the Dynal MX7 Magnetic Mixer significantly reduces the risk of repetitive strain injuries. In parallel studies performed by independent laboratories, data produced using the Dynal MX7 Mixer were equivalent to those obtained following the standard Dynal IMS method.
