For over ten years, thousands of customers in the United States and Canada have relied on IDEXX for top-quality water-testing vessels. Quality vessels play an important role in good laboratory practice. To ensure the accuracy of each test, collection and testing vessels must be sterile, clear, nonfluorescent and have accurate fill lines.

Collection and Testing VesselsIDEXX offers a complete line of sterile vessels for coliform/ E. coli sampling and testing. Designed to work with Defined Substrate Technology® (DST®) reagents such as Colilert®, Colilert®-18, Colisure® and Enterolert®, IDEXX vessels make microbiology testing easy, accurate and cost-effective.

For drinking water compliance testing, the 120-mL IDEXX vessel features a 100 mL fill line around the entire perimeter. This line is molded to ensure accuracy and is guaranteed to meet the U.S. EPA guideline for ±2.5% accuracy. The fill line also eliminates the need to measure samples with a graduated cylinder.

To simplify sampling from distribution systems, vessels are available with predispensed sodium thiosulfate in 120-mL, 150-mL or 290-mL capacities. Each vessel has enough sodium thiosulfate to neutralize 10 ppm chlorine.

Every vessel that IDEXX sells is made from high-clarity polystyrene that is nonfluorescent. Gamma sterilization eliminates any potential for false positives. Vessels are offered in two versions: shrink-banded or with tear-off labels.

TECH TIP

The IDEXX 290-mL vessel makes split-sampling easy and cost effective. Each 290-mL vessel has molded fill lines at 100 mL, 200 mL and 250 mL. For split-sampling, collect 200 mL of sample in the 290-mL vessel and pour 100 mL into another sterile vessel. DST tests can then be run in each of the two vessels.
