Dr. Hadley received her DVM in 2002 from Tufts University. After graduation, she completed a small-animal medicine and surgery internship at Rowley Memorial Animal Hospital in Massachusetts. In 2006, she completed a residency at the University of Tennessee where she was trained in avian, exotic and zoological medicine and surgery. Dr. Hadley is certified in avian practice by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. She previously worked as a member of the veterinary staff at Zoo Atlanta. Currently, she works in private practice at the Atlanta Hospital for Birds and Exotics. She also serves as executive director of the AWARE Wildlife Center in Atlanta.

Dr. Joseph received her DVM from the University of California, Davis, in 1983. She completed her small-animal medicine and surgery internship with the Sacramento Animal Medical Group. Dr. Joseph is extremely active in wildlife medicine and is president of the California Foundation for Birds of Prey, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation of raptors.

Dr. Bonenberger is a graduate of Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine and completed a 2-year residency and 1-year clinical fellowship in dermatology at the University of California, Davis. She became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology in 2000. Since completion of her residency, Dr. Bonenberger has practiced full-time as a clinical dermatologist in private practice. She has authored numerous articles on small-animal dermatology and gives continuing education lectures to fellow veterinarians. Dr. Bonenberger currently provides consultation services for veterinarians in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. She is actively involved in the American College of Veterinary Dermatology and the International Society of Veterinary Dermatopathology.

Dr. Brown graduated from Texas A&M University in 1995 and practiced in Houston for 3 years, both as a general practitioner as well as an emergency doctor. She returned to Texas A&M in 1998 for advanced training, which included a small-animal internship, a residency in small-animal internal medicine and a residency in oncology. She is board-certified in both oncology and small-animal internal medicine. She has been board-certified in small animal internal medicine since 1999. After completing her residency, Dr. Carsten was a staff internist at two busy private referral hospitals in Arizona. She has been an internal medicine consultant with IDEXX since 2002, and is now a manager for the U.S. Internal Medicine Consulting Service. Dr. Carsten enjoys all aspects of internal medicine and is particularly interested in gastroenterology, nutrition, infectious disease, endocrinology and hematology.

She followed it with an internship at Washington State University and finished her training at Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) of the University of Prince Edward Island, completing an MS and an internal medicine residency. Board-certified in small-animal internal medicine in 2005, Dr. Graham then returned to Indiana and practiced internal medicine for 8 years. She taught in Purdue’s Veterinary Technology Program and has periodically provided clinical support in the teaching hospital at AVC as a visiting instructor. She has served as chair of the continuing education committee for the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association for 4 years. Dr. Graham joined IDEXX as a consultant in May 2011.

He then spent 2 years in a small-animal internal medicine residency at the University of Pennsylvania, finishing in 2003, and pursued training in nephrology/hemodialysis at the University of California, Davis, for an additional year. Dr. Rollings then accepted a 1-year lectureship at the University of Pennsylvania before becoming a staff internist at Angell Animal Medical Center of Boston, where he had been practicing for 6 years until joining IDEXX in July 2011. Dr. Vin graduated from the Koret School of Veterinary Medicine at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1996. Following his training in internal medicine, he was board-certified as a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. After his residency, he founded Equine Diagnostics, a provider of referral diagnostic services to equine practitioners throughout New England. In the past few years, he has been the director of internal medicine at the Myhre Equine Clinic. Dr. Vin presents nationally and internationally and has authored or coauthored articles in several scientific journals. During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, running with his dog, Benji, and horseback riding.

After receiving her DVM from The Ohio State University in 1974, Dr. Werner completed an internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City and an internal medicine residency at the University of California, Davis (UCD). She was director of the clinical immunology laboratory at the University of Florida until 1985, when she returned to UCD to pursue a PhD in comparative pathology, joining the UCD veterinary pathology department in 1990 and IDEXX in 1996. Dr. Werner is board-certified in clinical pathology by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists and by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. She has authored more than 60 publications, presented a number of research abstracts and been invited to lecture on topics including clinical immunology, retroviral immunology and hematology.

Dr. Bell graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. He then entered the U.S. Army, where he practiced clinical veterinary medicine at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, for 2 years. That was followed by a residency in comparative pathology and certification in anatomic pathology in 1991. Dr. Bell served as chief of the veterinary pathology division, assistant professor of pathology and director of the clinical laboratory at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, and as a staff pathologist and principle investigator at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Washington, DC. He established his own veterinary reference laboratory outside of Richmond, Virginia, in 1996. In December 2009, Dr. Bell joined IDEXX Reference Laboratories in Memphis.

Dr. Blanchard received his DVM from Oklahoma State University in 1987. After 2 years in private practice, he spent the next 21 years in the U.S. Army. Dr. Brown received his DVM from Oklahoma State University in 1965 and, after a year in private practice, entered Cornell University, obtaining his PhD in pathology and becoming a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) in 1973. He then joined the faculty at Oklahoma State University for 3 years, which was followed by a research scientist position at the National Animal Disease Center in Ames, Iowa. In 1981, Dr. Brown joined North Carolina State University and, during his 27 years there, was actively involved in teaching, research and diagnostic services. Subsequently, Dr. Esplin has worked for Veterinary Reference Laboratory and the Animal Reference Pathology Division of ARUP Laboratories in Salt Lake City for more than 30 years. He is an adjunct associate professor of pathology at the University of Utah School of Medicine and serves on the Council on Education for the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Born and raised in Isabela, Puerto Rico, Dr. Cruz received her BS in animal science with high honors from the University of Puerto Rico. She then headed to Cornell University, completing her DVM in 2004. Dr. Cruz stayed in New York and practiced small-animal medicine, where her interest in clinical pathology grew and developed. In 2007, she pursued a residency in clinical pathology at the University of Florida and received board certification from the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in 2010. She joined IDEXX in April 2011.

Dr. David received his DVM from the University of Montreal in 1993. He started his clinical pathology training as an intern in laboratory diagnostics, also at the University of Montreal. Since 2001, he has been an adjunct faculty member in the clinical pathology curriculum of the veterinary technology program of the Community College of Denver and has also served on their advisory board. Dr. DeNicola completed his DVM in 1978 and his PhD in 1981, both at Purdue University. For more than 20 years, he served as educator in clinical and surgical pathology. He also ran a private pathology service for 15 years. A speaker at more than 300 national and international education symposia, Dr. DeNicola also has authored or coauthored more than 150 publications in various aspects of veterinary clinical pathology.

Dr. Fisher received his DVM from Washington State University and practiced at a small-animal clinic in Washington prior to his residency in clinical pathology at the University of California, Davis. After practicing at a mixed-animal practice in Ontario and a small-animal practice on Vancouver Island, she returned to WCVM and received her MVSc in 1993. Following a senior diagnostic fellowship year, she was board-certified as a clinical pathologist by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in 1994. Dr. Tobias earned her master’s degree in molecular biology from New York University and her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She interned at the University of Pennsylvania and completed an internal medicine residency at New York City’s Animal Medical Center. She worked as an emergency clinician and small animal internist in private practice until joining IDEXX as an internal medicine consultant from 2001-2010. In 2011, she was a senior lecturer in clinical pathology at a university in Australia and returned to IDEXX as a clinical pathologist in late 2011. He was a member of that institution’s faculty for 11 years, worked as a toxicologic pathologist in the pharmaceutical industry for 14 years, and has been a consultant and visiting professor for various veterinary schools, pharmaceutical companies, and diagnostic laboratories for 7 years. Dr. Tyler has edited or coedited two textbooks of veterinary cytology and hematology, authored or coauthored more than 100 scientific articles and book chapters, chaired and presented at numerous professional meetings and served on numerous professional and regulatory committees.

Dr. Valenciano received her DVM from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. Following graduation, she became a small-animal practitioner for 2 years in Austin, Texas. She then completed a master’s degree and residency program in veterinary clinical pathology at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000, the same year that she joined IDEXX. Dr. Vandis received her DVM degree from the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in 1995 and completed a year-long internship in small-animal medicine and surgery at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. After finishing a residency in internal medicine at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, Dr. Vandis worked as a staff clinician in the internal medicine and oncology departments at Angell until 2005. She then returned to Tufts to pursue a residency in clinical pathology and became board-certified in 2010. Dr. Vandis joined IDEXX in the North Grafton laboratory in December 2010.

Before becoming a veterinarian, Dr. Velguth received a degree in Japanese language from Georgetown University and worked for several years in Washington, DC, as a researcher for one of Japan’s major newspapers. She received her DVM from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. She completed an internship in small-animal medicine and surgery in Phoenix, Arizona, followed by a specialty internship in zoological medicine at the Tulsa Zoo and Oklahoma State University (OSU). She remained at OSU for her clinical pathology residency, which she completed in 2009. She has worked with several zoos and wildlife rehabilitators.

Prior to becoming a veterinarian, Dr. Weber received a degree in music from Northwestern University and also worked in information technology at the Kellogg School of Management. She completed her DVM at the University of Illinois, graduating with honors in 2007. Dr. Weber stayed at the University of Illinois where she completed a residency in clinical pathology in 2010. During her residency, Dr. Weber researched endothelial cell markers for use in immunocytochemical differentiation of hemangiosarcoma from other sarcomas. Dr. Wells attended the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine (UGACVM) from 1979 to 1983. She spent time in anatomic and clinical pathology laboratories, did an externship at the state diagnostic laboratory and determined that she wanted to be both an anatomic and clinical pathologist. After graduating from UGACVM, she worked in emergency medicine from 1983 to 1986, which was followed by 1 year of postdoctoral research and then a residency in anatomic pathology at the University of Florida. She was also chief resident at North Carolina State University's College of Veterinary Medicine for 1 year. Dr. Wells became board-certified in anatomic pathology in 1990 and in clinical pathology in 1993. She has spent almost all of her career in diagnostic pathology.

After receiving her DVM from The Ohio State University in 1974, Dr. Werner completed an internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City and an internal medicine residency at the University of California, Davis (UCD). She was director of the clinical immunology laboratory at the University of Florida until 1985, when she returned to UCD to pursue a PhD in comparative pathology, joining the UCD veterinary pathology department in 1990 and IDEXX in 1996. Dr. Werner is board-certified in clinical pathology by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists and by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. She has authored more than 60 publications, presented a number of research abstracts and been invited to lecture on topics including clinical immunology, retroviral immunology and hematology.

Randy J. Wilson, DVM, MRCVS, DACVP

Dr. Wilson received his BS in wildlife biology in 1984 and his DVM in 1988, both from Colorado State University (CSU). He worked with zoos and wildlife studies and taught at a veterinary school prior to practicing small-animal, emergency and, mostly, avian/reptile/exotic animal medicine and surgery for 9 years in California and Colorado. He then completed a combined residency/PhD program in clinical pathology and infectious diseases at CSU. Dr. Wilson spent 2½ years in biopharmaceutical research at a private contract research organization and 1 year in England at a diagnostic laboratory before joining IDEXX as a diagnostic clinical pathologist in February 2009. He was board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in 2008.

Dr. Wunn graduated with distinction from Iowa State University in 1990. She spent the next 4 years in private practice in mixed-animal and small-animal practices. She completed a residency and graduate degree at Washington State University. Dr. Wunn joined IDEXX in 2000 and became certified as a clinical pathologist by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in 2002. Her specialties include cytology, hematology and equine clinical pathology. She enjoys teaching and has taught at Washington State University, Iowa State University and Tufts University. In addition, Dr. Wunn has done many continuing education programs for both veterinarians and veterinary technicians in the U.S. and internationally. Her most recent publications are contributions to manuscripts involving hematology of tortoises and sea turtles in association with the New England Aquarium.

Dr. Zabolotzky received her DVM from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in 2004 and completed a rotating small-animal internship at VCA hospitals in Aurora and Berwyn, Illinois. She then completed the joint residency program between IDEXX in West Sacramento and the University of California, Davis, becoming board-certified in clinical pathology. After working as a contractor during the last 1½ years of her residency, Dr. Zabolotzky became a full-time clinical pathologist at the West Sacramento laboratory in 2008.
