Rick Alleman, DVM, PhD, DABVP, DACVP 

![]() | Dr. Alleman received his DVM from Louisiana State University, practiced veterinary medicine for nine years and became board certified in the companion animal specialty in 1987. Dr. Alleman completed his residency in clinical pathology and his PhD at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, where he is professor of clinical pathology, service chief of the Clinical Pathology Laboratory and director of the Clinical Diagnostic Laboratories. |
![]() | Dr. Cowell graduated from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1978. She later completed an internship in small-animal medicine, surgery, radiology and anesthesia at OSU. Board certified in canine and feline practice, Dr. Cowell operates The Cat Clinic of Stillwater in Stillwater, Oklahoma, providing quality, compassionate care for cats. |
Rick L. Cowell, DVM, MS, MRCVS, DACVP

Before joining IDEXX as a clinical pathologist in 2005, he was a professor of veterinary clinical pathology at Oklahoma State University for 17 years. Dr. Cowell has authored or coauthored numerous journal articles and is coeditor of several diagnostic textbooks. |
Dennis B. DeNicola, DVM, PhD, DACVP

He is a renowned international speaker and has published more than 150 articles and authored or coauthored multiple books in various aspects of veterinary clinical pathology. |
Stephen DiBartola, DVM, DACVIM 

![]() | Dr. DiBartola, professor of medicine and associate dean of curriculum and administration at the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, graduated from University of California, Davis, in 1976. Author of the textbook Fluid Therapy in Small Animal Practice, he is also currently a coeditor-in-chief for the Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Dr. DiBartola’s clinical interests include fluid and electrolyte disturbances and renal diseases of dogs and cats. |
![]() | Dr. Frye received her DVM from the University of Georgia and her master’s degree in infectious disease epidemiology, specializing in molecular genetic testing, from Harvard University. Dr. Frye completed her residency and fellowship at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where she worked on field outbreaks and quality assurance for laboratory testing. Dr. Frye is the marketing manager for IDEXX Medical Affairs Department and manages the North American Advisory Board. |

He is the past president and medical director of the Emergency Animal Clinic, a three-hospital referral practice in Dallas, Texas. Stanley L. Marks, BVSc, PhD, DACVIM (Internal Medicine, Oncology), DACVN 

![]() | Dr. Marks is a graduate of the University of Pretoria in South Africa. He is a professor of internal medicine in the Department of Medicine and Epidemiology and the Companion Animal Gastrointestinal Laboratory’s director at University of California, Davis. His research interests include epidemiologic and risk factors for bacterial and parasitic enteropathogens as well as characterization and management of dysphagia in dogs. |
![]() | Dr. Metzger is a 1986 graduate of the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine and is a diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (canine/feline). He is an adjunct professor at Pennsylvania State University and serves on the practitioner advisory boards of Veterinary Economics and Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Metzger also owns a five-doctor general and referral practice in State College, Pennsylvania. |

In 2000, after practicing in a busy referral hospital, she joined IDEXX Reference Laboratories as an internal medicine consultant. Dr. Robertson currently serves as the head of internal medicine for North America and Europe. |

Mission
The IDEXX Laboratories Advisory Board is committed to seeking ways to better understand the current veterinary market through communication with influential key opinion leaders, universities, organizations and successful practitioners. By constantly improving our understanding of the diagnostic challenges facing the veterinary community, IDEXX Laboratories can provide the most effective products, services and education materials to assist our customers in practicing the highest-quality medicine.
Charter
The IDEXX Laboratories Advisory Board meets annually to establish a collaborative relationship between IDEXX Laboratories and key opinion leaders, universities and veterinary organizations. Representatives of successful veterinary hospitals are included to share best practices and to better define current veterinary clinical procedures. The IDEXX Laboratories Advisory Board is devoted to aligning IDEXX research and development efforts, products and services to better meet the needs of the veterinary community.
In addition, European and Asian-Pacific advisory boards focus on better defining current diagnostic testing paradigms by region and individual country, and special-focus advisory boards focus on hematology and emergency and critical care.
