IDEXX Computer Systems to Release IDEXX Cornerstone® 8.0 Practice Management Software
Dramatically improves practices’ ability to capture, store and share all medical information
WESTBROOK, Maine, January 13, 2010—IDEXX Computer Systems announces the availability of IDEXX Cornerstone® Practice Management Software version 8.0. To help veterinarians capture, store and share all medical information, Cornerstone 8.0 software simplifies the recording of detailed medical notes, and automatically integrates them into electronic medical records. Doctors can more easily finish notes during the exam or patient visit instead of at the end of the day, and quickly retrieve accurate, comprehensive information. In addition, new functionality within Cornerstone 8.0 software makes it easier for organizations that own or support multiple locations to share client and patient data.

The enhanced medical notes in this upgrade respond to these goals. Prepopulated text fields and check boxes ensure the capture of key details with a minimum of typing. Enhanced medical notes utilize word processor-like control of formatting, including outlining, numbered or bulleted lists, and tables, plus the ability to include images and annotate them. In addition, Cornerstone 8.0 software has the ability to integrate medical notes into client correspondence or referral paperwork.
Cornerstone 8.0 software enables multiple-location organizations to easily access client and patient data from a single server. The need to create multiple accounts for the same client and patient is eliminated, resulting in flexibility that enables centralization of tasks, including invoicing and scheduling. At the same time, with Cornerstone 8.0, individual practices in a larger group have the option to create location-specific invoices, statements, prescription labels and client handouts.
Other benefits of upgrading to Cornerstone 8.0 software include easier viewing, enhancement and sharing of digital radiographs; the ability to import results from a wide range of non-IDEXX diagnostic equipment; and seamless integration with the EVA®-Vet digital dental radiology system*, so users can automatically download images into patient records.
