IDEXX Laboratories Announces New Testing Capabilities for the IDEXX SNAPshot Dx® Analyzer [Trade]
IDEXX introduced the SNAP® rapid assay test with its unique and highly accurate ELISA technology in a test kit over 17 years ago. The tests were visually read by veterinary professionals with the results recorded or keyed in by hand. SNAP® technology became and continues to be the gold standard in point-of-care testing. With the introduction of this new capability on the SNAPshot Dx analyzer, practices now have the option to "œsnap" the SNAP FIV/FeLV Combo Test or the SNAP cPL test, load the test into the analyzer and the instrument takes care of the rest: timing the assay, interpreting the result, and adding to the patient record in the IDEXX VetLab® Station. This frees staff to move onto other practice needs.
"Busy practices are always looking for ways to create efficiencies and streamline work flow," said Mike Sullivan, Marketing Director for the IDEXX SNAP test line. "The ability to snap the test kit, load the SNAPshot Dx® analyzer and go, gives practices a new opportunity to begin to automatically integrate their qualitative diagnostic results seamlessly into the electronic medical record, and free up more time to manage the patient."
In addition, with this new SNAP® qualitative assay capability, the SNAPshot Dx analyzer can help to standardize practice protocols, create more efficient work flow by running multiple patients simultaneously and significantly reduce costly missed charges. Users simply insert activated SNAP® ELISA tests into either of two ports. The SNAPshot Dx analyzer reads the assay results at the right time and, through the IDEXX VetLab Station, automatically downloads the data into the patient record. Results are then incorporated into the IDEXX VetLab Station's easy-to-read integrated diagnostic report for a complete picture of patient health.
