(NASDAQ: IDXX), makers of SURPASS® (1% diclofenac sodium) Topical Anti-Inflammatory Cream, is proud to announce its sponsorship of the 80th Hambletonian, one of America's oldest and most prestigious equine sporting events, taking place on Friday, August 5, and Saturday, August 6, 2005.

Continuing education seminars will take place on Friday, August 5, at the Sheraton Meadowlands hotel. The IDEXX-sponsored presentation, "A New Approach to Pain and Inflammation in the Horse," will be presented by Craig F. Shoemaker, DVM, MS, whose career spans private practice and industry leadership. Dr. Shoemaker will provide a comprehensive update on new methods for diagnosing and treating lameness.

Other featured talks include "New Data on Equine Infectious Diseases: Neurologic Herpes, Strangles and Influenza" by Robert E. Holland, Jr., DVM, PhD; and the "National Commission on Veterinary Economic Issues (NCVEI) Update on Benchmarking Equine Practices—Why Benchmarking Drives Better Performance," by Howard Rubin.
