IDEXX Laboratories Launches Equine Capability with the LaserCyte® Analyzer

WESTBROOK, Maine, March 15, 2004—IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. (NASDAQ: IDXX), today announced that it has commenced shipping the LaserCyte® Hematology Analyzer, the next generation in veterinary hematology testing, to equine veterinarians. The LaserCyte analyzer, an in-house instrument that uses proprietary laser-flow cytometry, now provides equine veterinarians with a complete blood count, allowing for a truly comprehensive CBC with complete indices, including red blood count, platelets and a 5-part white blood cell differential for equine patients. The easy-to-use LaserCyte analyzer provides results with reference laboratory accuracy within minutes to aid in rapidly diagnosing the "problem horse" or managing the equine athlete in training/competition.
