IDEXX Launches Canine SNAP® 3Dx™ Diagnostic Test

WESTBROOK, Maine, March 26, 2001—IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. (NASDAQ - IDXX), today announced the launch of its new Canine SNAP® 3Dx™ test kit, an in-clinic diagnostic test that screens dogs simultaneously for three diseases: heartworm disease, Ehrlichiosis and Lyme disease. The SNAP 3Dx test is the only pet-side test for canine Ehrlichiosis and Lyme Borreliosis and is also the only Lyme disease test that distinguishes infected dogs from vaccinated dogs.

Over 15 million dogs are tested annually for heartworm disease. By combining Ehrlichiosis and Lyme disease tests with a heartworm test, the SNAP 3Dx test permits veterinarians to efficiently and economically test for three diseases that are difficult to diagnose on clinical signs alone.
