Submitting Cardiology Cases to IDEXX Telemedicine

The IDEXX Telemedicine staff is prepared to receive information for cases in the method you prefer—Internet, fax, ECG teletransmitter, an IDEXX Reference Laboratories courier, overnight courier service or USPS mail.

STAT cases receive a telephone callback by our specialists within one hour of processing.

Screen ECGs receive faxed results within 20 minutes of receiving the case.

Critical ECG (Super STAT) transmittals are called back within minutes of receipt of the case.

Online

We accept online case submissions. To submit a case, simply fill out the online case submission form, attach your data file and send it. If you are submitting your first case to IDEXX Telemedicine, please take a moment to fill out our registration form. The data you provide to us will ensure that we process your case and deliver reports correctly.

ECG Teletransmitter

1. Position the animal.
   
   
2. Call the transmission line at 1-800-347-8300 and have your IDEXX Telemedicine account number available. Inform the technician of the type of ECG that you are transmitting. You are always speaking with a trained technician who can guide you through the transmission.
   
   
3. Place the telephone mouthpiece over the padded area on your transmitter.
   
   
4. Turn the transmitter on and use its dial to send the ECG tracing.

Fax

You can fax data for all consultation services available through IDEXX Telemedicine.

ECG Consultations

1. Take the ECG tracing on your electrocardiographic equipment.
   
   
2. Mount and label as many leads (415 KB) as possible and inform us of the paper speed. Except for lead II, they can all be run at 25 speed. Mount at least 8.5 inches of each lead.
   
   
3. Photocopy the tracings, complete a detailed case submission form (438 KB) and fax them to:

4. Make sure we know how to report on the case. Reports are faxed unless otherwise specified. Make sure we have your fax number on file. Routine cases receive a faxed report the next day.

WHEN FAXING A CRITICAL ECG, CALL US AT 1-800-726-1212, PRESS 0, AND ALERT US THAT THE CASE IS BEING FAXED.

IDEXX Reference Laboratory Courier, Overnight Courier, Mail

1. For each transmittal, please be sure to include a case submission form (438 KB) and, if warranted, a detailed medical history form (443 KB).
   
   
2. Mount all or as many leads as possible of the ECG. The mounted leads (415 KB) should be at least 8.5 inches long.
   
   
3. Label the leads and let us know the paper speed that was used to record them.
   
   
4. Provide us with the method you'd like for our response. All our reports are faxed unless otherwise requested.
   
   
5. Give the case to the IDEXX courier when he or she comes in to pick up your lab work. The laboratory personnel will transmit your case to the IDEXX Telemedicine office.
