IDEXX Laboratories’ Latest Software Upgrade Enhances IDEXX VetLab® Suite Capabilities [Trade]
New features of IDEXX VetLab® Station software version 2.30 include expanded analyzer connectivity and improved cell differentiation in hematology analysis

WESTBROOK, Maine, April 29, 2008—IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. (NASDAQ: IDXX) announces the release of version 2.30 for the IDEXX VetLab® Station Laboratory Information Management System, with several new features that further enhance the capabilities of the IDEXX VetLab® Suite of integrated in-house analyzers.

The release adds connectivity to the new IDEXX Catalyst Dx™, SNAPshot Dx™ and Coag Dx™ Analyzers, allowing these analyzer results to print automatically in the IDEXX VetLab® integrated report and to auto-download to patient records, along with the patient’s other diagnostic results.

The upgrade further expands the IDEXX Vetlab Station’s capacity to integrate SNAP® test results into the IDEXX VetLab® report with the addition of the SNAP® cPL™ Test to the results menu. Practices will also be able to automatically generate a precisely formatted electronic log sheet, covering a user-defined time span, for all SNAP test results, eliminating manual log maintenance.

Version 2.30 also enhances the IDEXX LaserCyte® Hematology Analyzer’s ability to differentiate the white blood cells in abnormal samples. This yields an even more accurate white blood cell differential and provides veterinarians with reference-laboratory quality results in minutes

Another upgrade benefit is the addition of more specific patient classifications. Two new breed options are available for feline patients—domestic shorthair and domestic longhair, and a new broodmare life-stage classification is available for equine patients.
