IDEXX Laboratories to launch IDEXX Coag Dx™ Analyzer [Trade]
Critical coagulation results in seconds bring IDEXX VetLab® Suite in-house capabilities in line with reference laboratories

Westbrook, Maine, April 26, 2007—IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. (NASDAQ:IDXX), announces the planned launch of the IDEXX Coag Dx™ Analyzer that will enable veterinarians to detect clotting disorders and provide vital information for patients that require critical care and emergency and surgical procedures. This analyzer, the newest member of the IDEXX VetLab® Suite, will deliver results in seconds for fresh and citrated whole blood prothrombin time (PT) and activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT). Identification of coagulation problems is critical before surgery is performed, and in the diagnosis and treatment of animals suspected of having a bleeding disorder. The IDEXX Coag Dx Analyzer is slated to launch in the fourth quarter of 2007.

IDEXX Coag Dx Analyzer The IDEXX Coag Dx will be an integral part of the IDEXX VetLab Suite of analyzers, the in-clinic laboratory that delivers comprehensive, in-depth diagnostics, flexibility in testing and efficiencies that minimize staff time and effort. Results are simply and seamlessly integrated for hematology, chemistry, electrolytes, endocrinology, urinalysis, blood gas and, soon, coagulation, through the IDEXX VetLab® Station, as well as archiving and easy access to historical results for identifying and graphically reporting trends.

“The IDEXX Coag Dx Analyzer will connect to the IDEXX VetLab Suite, allowing coagulation results to appear along with the rest of a patient’s results in one integrated report,” said Michael Williams, PhD, IDEXX VetLab Corporate Vice President. “The addition of the Coag Dx Analyzer to the IDEXX VetLab Suite will enable IDEXX to offer veterinarians the most comprehensive point-of-care diagnostic solution, rivaling reference laboratory capabilities for basic blood profiles and emergency and critical care.”

Coag Dx cartridgeIDEXX will also launch Coag Dx™ cartridges in late May 2007 through a partnership with International Technidyne Corporation (ITC). These cartridges will be compatible with the Synbiotics SCA2000™ as well as the IDEXX Coag Dx™ Analyzer.
