IDEXX Laboratories Launches Cornerstone® 7.0 Practice Management System [Trade]
Updates include a new inventory system with a new look

Westbrook, Maine, January 17, 2007IDEXX Computer Systems, a division of IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. (NASDAQ:IDXX), announces IDEXX Cornerstone 7.0 using IDEXX SmartLink™ Technology to create a complete circuit of data flow. SmartLink technology provides a seamless exchange of veterinary patient and practice information among all IDEXX products and services.

IDEXX Cornerstone 7.0 Screen SampleIDEXX unveiled its latest use of SmartLink technology through LabREXX® functionality, which allows practices to request tests electronically from IDEXX Reference Laboratories. Automated data population and downloading to and from the patient record improves clinic productivity, while the automated invoicing feature captures lost revenue.

Inventory management has been completely redesigned in Cornerstone 7.0 to provide users with a new, easier interface and improved functionality. The Cornerstone 7.0 inventory module saves time and improves accuracy by using bar code scanning to enter each item, thus increasing inventory control accuracy and stock management among multiple clinic locations.

The new release also includes enhanced reminders and client correspondence. Additional imaging and x-ray radiography features build upon SmartLink technology’s existing applications by enabling the direct download of medical images from IDEXX Digital Radiography into the Cornerstone patient record.

“IDEXX continually strives to provide advanced functionality and features combined with ease of use in its practice management systems and tools with the ultimate goal of streamlining practice administrative and operational tasks, and making patient information easily accessible. This allows the practice to focus on providing the highest level of medical care possible,” said Dick Guelzow, DVM and Product Manager of IDEXX Computer Systems.
