IDEXX Laboratories Introduces the IDEXX VetLab® Station Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) [Trade]
Diagnostic data integration enables veterinarians to increase level of patient care

Westbrook, Maine, January 17, 2007—IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. (NASDAQ:IDXX), continues its commitment to innovation in veterinary medicine with the introduction of the IDEXX VetLab® Station Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). The new computer and touch screen offer an unprecedented level of information management for customers of the IDEXX VetLab® Suite of in-house analyzers. The IDEXX VetLab Station was shipped with all LaserCyte® analyzers ordered in North America for most of 2006 but is now available for sale as a stand-alone system. This enables the entire IDEXX VetLab customer base to evolve their in-house reference laboratory capabilities, whatever set of instruments they currently operate.

IDEXX VetLab Station with IDEXX VetTest Chemistry AnalyzerThe IDEXX VetLab Station LIMS integrates data generated by IDEXX in-house diagnostic instruments, allowing veterinarians to care for patients on a higher level. With virtually unlimited data storage for patient records and results, the IDEXX VetLab Station gives veterinary professionals more information on each patient at the point of care—when they need it most. Featuring a new, more powerful computer and a larger 10.4-inch touch screen, along with parameter-trending capabilities, interpretive summaries, and on-screen training guides, the IDEXX VetLab Station provides unparalleled analytical, reporting and medical reference capability.

In addition, practices will benefit from time- and labor-saving features, including the ability to run multiple IDEXX VetLab instruments from a single interface, auto-entry filling of patient and client information for reduced data entry, and easy access to integrated reports.

The IDEXX VetLab Station can serve as the primary user interface for the complete suite of IDEXX VetLab instruments—the LaserCyte® Hematology Analyzer, the VetTest® Chemistry Analyzer, the SNAP® Reader, the VetStat® Electrolyte and Blood Gas Analyzer, the VetLyte® Electrolyte Analyzer, and the IDEXX VetLab® UA™ Analyzer—consolidating and managing all of the data generated, and providing a comprehensive diagnostic information solution unique in the veterinary-practice setting. It also consolidates and manages the diagnostic data generated by IDEXX VetLab instruments in an integrated system (for example, multiple VetTest analyzers).

“The enhanced and highly flexible graphical trending capability adds an entirely new dimension to historical patient laboratory data management, bringing medically relevant developments to the attention of the veterinarian, technician and, if desired, to the client,” said Michael Williams, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of the IDEXX VetLab business unit. “The IDEXX VetLab Station’s capability will continue to grow in 2007 and beyond as we provide additional enhancements through future software releases.”

The IDEXX VetLab Station also benefits practices using the Cornerstone® Practice Management System by enabling them to upload information simply and seamlessly into patient medical records and invoices. As a result, veterinary professionals enjoy improved case management at the point of care and can focus on providing enhanced patient care and client service.
